Abstract: Objective To explore the relationship between parental childhood abuse experiences, parental reflective functioning and parent-child relationship,so as to provide a theoretical basis for improving parent-child relationship. Methods A cluster stratified random sampling method was used to select 582 parents in Tongzhou District from April to July 2019.And the participants were assessed by the Childhood Trauma Questionnaire (CTQ-SF),the Parental Reflective Functioning Questionnaire(PRFQ) and Parent-Child Relationship Scale(CPRS).Results No mediating effect of reflective functioning between fathers' experiences of childhood abuse and parent-child relationships were found, with the model fit indexes of χ2/df=1.222,GFI=0.981,CFI=0.986,RMSEA=0.028,TLI=0.975,AGFI=0.957.Mothers' reflective functioning partially mediated the relationship between mothers' childhood abuse and parent-child relationship, with the model fit indexes of χ2/df=1.726,GFI=0.976,CFI=0.968,RMSEA=0.049,TLI=0.942,AGFI=0.945,and the mediating effect was 19%.Conclusions Reflective functioning mediates the effects of mothers' experiences of childhood abuse on parent-child relationships. Thus, improving mothers' reflective functioning can make parent-child relationship better and facilitating the healthy development of children.
