Abstract:

AIM: To investigate the expression of long noncoding RNA lncFOXC1 in liver cancer and the role in liver cancer formation. METHODS: A total of 34 liver cancer and peri-tumor tissues were collected. Expression of lncFOXC1 was detected by qRT-PCR in liver cancer and peri-tumor tissues, as well as liver cancer cell spheres. LncFOXC1 deficiency cell lines were constructed by shRNA. Then, its roles in sphere formation and in vivo tumor growth assays were studied. RESULTS: lncFOXC1 was significantly highly expressed in liver cancer tissues and liver cancer cell sphere. LncFOXC1 deficiency significantly reduced sphere formation and tumor growth. CONCLUSION: LncFOXC1 is highly expressed in liver cancer tissues, and can regulate liver cancer stem cell growth.
