Clinical effect comparison on gynecological preoperative bowel cleansing with mannitol solution and magnesium sulfate solution

Abstract: AIM: To compare the clinical effect on gynecological preoperative bowel cleansing with mannitol solution and magnesium sulfate solution,in order to guide clinical drugs of choice. METHODS: The prepare hysterectomy medical records 106 cases were chosed,which was randomly divided into oral the mannitol solution group (n=53) and oral magnesium sulfate group (n=53). The intestinal cleanliness, number of bowel movements,exhaust time and related adverse reactions were compared.RESULTS: There was no statistical significance in the intestinal cleanliness, number of bowel movements,exhaust time in the two groups (P>0.05); there was no statistical significance in the nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, bloating, abdominal pain, anal stimulation,dizziness,headache in the two groups (P>0.05). CONCLUSION: There was no significant difference in the clinical effect and the related adverse reactions in the two groups.Mannitol solution and magnesium sulfate solution can be used in clinic,but magnesium sulfate solution is bitter in taste. Mannitol solution is easy to use, easy to store, and good taste, and can be widely used for bowel preparation before gynecologic surgery.
