Abstract: The main function of vitamin D is to regulate calcium homeostasis and bone metabolism, but in recent years, it has also been confirmed that it can participate in mitochondrial metabolism and autophagy, and further affect skeletal muscle cells, liver cells, nerve cells, etc. This article mainly discusses the effect of vitamin D on diabetic neuropathy by improving mitochondrial function and regulating autophagy, so as to provide a theoretical basis for the clinical application of vitamin D.

Key words: vitamin D, diabetic neuropathy, mitochondrial, autophagy, oxidative stress
