Abstract: AIM: To observe the efficacy of ketosteril in treatment of chronic renal failure with high level of plasma Cys-C. METHODS: 60 patients with chronic renal failure were randomly divided into treatment group and control group.The control group was adopted a low protein and low phosphorum diet and correcting symptoms; the treatment group, based on the therapy of the control group, was given ketosteril;30 healthy subjects were used as the normal control to observe changes of Cys-C, Scr, TC, HB, and HDL before and after the treatment. RESULTS: The levels of Cys-C and Scr decreased after the administration of ketosteril (P <0.05). CONCLUSION: Ketosteril shows a better effect on decreasing the levels of Cys-C and Scr in patients with CRF.
