Effects of total extraction of Astragalus on activity of matrix metalloprotei-nase-9 from Kupffer cells in ratliver

Abstract: AIM: To study the effect of total extrac-tion of Astragalus (TEA)on activity of matrix metallopro-teinase-9 (MMP-9)from Kupffer cells in ratliver.METHODS: The Kupffer cells (KC)were isolated fromlivers of normal rats by in situPerfusionwithPronase and collagenase and density gradient centrifugationwith refrig-erated centrifuger.Then KCwere cultured withlPS (0.1μg·ml-1)and MMP-9 was measured with zymography.RESULTS: TEA (5~40 mg·L-1)could inhibit the ac-tivity of MMP-9 induced bylPS.CONCLUSION: TEA has inhibitory efficacy on activity of matrix metalloprotein-ase-9 (MMP-9)from Kupffer cells in ratliver.
