Nevirapine, a non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor

Abstract

Abstract: Acquired immune deficiency syndrome(AIDS),a great epidemic threatening disease,is caused by the human immunodeficiency virus(HIV),particularly the strain known as HIV-1.Nevirapine,a novel nonnucleoside reverse transcriptase(RT)inhibitor combined with nucleoside analogue RT inhibitors orProtease inhibitors,can be used in treatment ofPatients with HIV infection.AS an agent used alone,nevirapine canPrevent vertical transmission or HIV infection.
