Abstract: AIM: To investigate the analgesic efficacy of Corydalis suppositories.METHODS: Rats and mice aching models given different doses of Corydalis suppositories by rectum were established to observe the analgesic efficacy;the influence of the Corydalis suppositories was recorded on the frequency, range andmotoricity of uterine smooth muscle in vitro.RESULTS: Compared to control group, Corydalis suppositories enhanced pain threshold, delayed latent period, decreased mumber of times and twisting bodies incidence of animals, and weakened frequency, range and motoricity of uterine smooth muscle in vitro induced by pitocin.CONCLUSION: Corydalis suppositories can relieve the pain of various aching models and resists the acute contraction induced by oxytocin.

Key words: Corydalis suppositories, administration by rectum, menorrhalgia model, uterus in vitro, analgesic effect
