Therapeutic observation of chitosan gynecologic suppository for candida vaginitis and mycotic vaginitis

Abstract: AIM: To observe the clinical therapeutic effect of chitosan gynecologic suppository in the treatment of candidal vaginitis and bacteroidal vagina disease. METHODS: One hundred cases of candidal vaginitis were randomly divided into observation group (n=50) treated with chitosan gynecologic suppository and control group (n=50)treated with Daktarin suppository.Similarly, another one hundred cases of bacteroidal vaginitis were randomly divided into observation group (n=50) treated with chitosan gynecologic suppository and control group (n=50)treated with metronidazole suppository.The syndrome, physical sign and laboratory examination were compared before and after the treatment.RESULTS: The effective rates of the chitosan gynecologic suppository were 93.6 % and 79.1 % for candidal vaginitis and bacteroidal vagina disease, respectively.There was no statistical difference in the effect between Daktarin suppository and metronidazole suppository (P>0.05).CONCLUSION: Chitosan gynecologic suppository is safe, effective and more receptive for the patients, and the resistance is not easily produced for treatment of candida vaginitis and bacteroidal vagina disease.Its advantage is that the patients can be treated without complete laboratory examination.
