Clinical evaluation of benazepril alone and combined with losartan in the treatment of congestive heart failure

Abstract: AIM: To evaluate the efficacy of benazepril alone and combined with losartan in the treatment of congestive heart failure ( CHF). MATHODS: 34 patients with class Ⅱ-Ⅳ( NYHA) CHF were divided into two groups: benazepril group and benazepril +losartan group. The treatment course lasted 3 mon. RESULTS: NYHA class in both groups were significantly improved. There was no significant difference in effective rate between two groups ( 88. 9 % vs 87. 5 %, P >0. 05). However, benazepril +losartan group was better than benazepril group in improving heart composition and function ( P <0. 05). CONCLUSION: The combination of benazepril and losartan is prior to benazepril alone in the treatment of CHF.
