Abstract: Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), one of the principal causes of cryptogenic cirrhosis, is the most common liver disease second to viral hepatitis. Adipocytokines contribute to fatty liver. We review the research progress of seven kinds of adipocytokines: adiponectin, lepin, resistin, visfatin, apelin, hepcidin and omentin, which may be associated with the non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.

Key words: Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, Adipocytokine, Insulin resistance
