Effects of alcoholic extract from Radix Pseudostellariae (ERP)on antilipoperoxidation

Abstract

Abstract: AIM: To study the effects of the alcoholic extract from Radix Pseudostellariae(ERP)on antilipoperoxidation.METHODS: The effects of ERP on antioxidation systems of rats were observed by natural senile model rats which were administered the alcoholic extract from 2.16, 4.32, and 8.64 g·kg^-1·d^-1 of Radix Pseudostellariae.RESULTS: MDA decreased and the activities of SOD and GSH-PX increased in serum, liver and kidneys of natural senile model rats administered ERP.CONCLUSION: ERP have the notable effect on eliminating oxygen free radicals, active oxygen and antilipoperoxidation.
