Abstract: AIM: To study the protective effect of Resveratrol on the acute lung inflammation in experimental mice and its mechanism of action.METHODS: The acute lung inflammation model was established in mice and mice were i.p. treated with Resveratro or vehicle in 4 d. The curative effect of Resveratrol were observed, as well as the changes of differential leukocytes count in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid, the expression of TNF-α IL-1β and IL-6 after treatment.RESULTS: The results showed that Resveratrol could significantly relieve the clinical symptoms of acute lung inflammation and could reduce the numbers and percentages of leukocytes in the bronchoalveolar lavage fluid. The activation of TNF-α IL-1β and IL-6 were inhibited by Resveratrol.CONCLUSION: These findings indicated that Resveratrol possessed reliable curative effect for acute lung inflammation, in which the inhibition of inflammatory factors, especially TNF-α, IL-1β and IL-6 was a potential antiphlogistic mechanism.
