Abstract: Organic anion-transporting polypeptide 1B1 and breast cancer-resistance protein are the important transporters in human, participating in absorption, distribution and excretion of many substances including statins. However, researchers had paid more attention on the metabolic enzymes in the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics, the studies on transporters is lagged behind of metabolic enzymes. With the development of science, we got to focus on the role of transporters on the statin toxicity recently. This paper is to review the relationship between the main transporter pharmacogenetics and statin efficacy.
