METHODS: Combined administration of human HCG and insulin was used for establishing PCOS rat model, PCOS rat weight, ovarian weight, morphology. The effects of aspirin on the levels of serum TNF-α, IL-6 and insulin and the expression of IL-6 and TNF-α mRNA in ovarian tissue were observed. RESULTS: Aspirin treatment significantly reduced the rat weight and ovary weight in PCOS rats, the ovarian pathological changes, levels of TNF-α, IL-6 and insulin in serum and expressions of IL-6 and TNF-α mRNA in ovarian tissue were obviously reduced compared with the PCOS rats. CONCLUSION: Aspirin therapy has protective effect on PCOS rats and the effect is closely related to its anti-inflammatory effect.
