Abstract: AIM: To quantify the circulating DNA in plasma from patients with lung cancer and investigate the relationship with the circulating DNA and neoplasm metastasis or recurrence in lung cancer patients.METHODS: Blood samples were collected from 98 lung cancer patients,44 patients with non-neoplastic diseases, and 60 healthy volunteers. The circulating DNA was extracted and analyzed by fluorescent dye(SYBR green I)staining.RESULTS:The circulating DNA concentration in the lung cancer, was significantly higher than which patients with non-neoplastic diseases and the healthy volunteers. The level of circulating DNA was higher in lung caner patients with metastasis or recurrence.CONCLUSION: Circulating DNA in plasma may become a new tumor marker to monitor metastasis or recurrence of lung cancer.
