Research development in the functions of the nuclear transcription factor E47

Abstract: E47, a member of the Helix-Loop-Helix transcription factor family, has been showed to be important in eukaryotes. It was involved in regulating cell cycle, promoting cell senescent. E47 could regulate Insulin and Glucagon gene transcription, immune cells proliferation and the synthesis of immune factors. In addition, it not only contributed to skeletal and smooth myogenesis, neurogenesis, but also triggered epithelial mesenchymal transition ( EMT ) to tumorigenicity. The main functions of E47 were summarized in this article.
