Analysis of Gesell Developmental Scale of children aged 2~3 years old with autism spectrum disorder or with developmental language disorders

Abstract: Objective To provide evidences for early diagnosis and intervention by comparing the Gesell's intelligence development characteristics of 2~3 years old children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) or with developmental language disorders (DLD). Method A total of 75 children with ASD and 71 children with DLD were divided into two groups respectively.Assessments and analysis of developmental assessment of Gesell Developmental Scale were made between the two groups. Results Five dimensions of Gesell Developmental Scale in ASD children were below normal (gross motor and fine motor could exceed the language area and personal-social area).The population means of all dimensions of ASD children were statistically lower than DLD children's and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.01). Conclusion Intellectual development of the ASD children is lower than the DLD children.Gesell Developmental Scale is helpful to the auxiliary diagnosis of ASD.

摘要: 目的 比较2~3岁孤独症谱系障碍(autism spectrum disorders,ASD)和发育性语言障碍(developmental language disorder,DLD)的Gesell智能发育特征,为早期诊断和干预提供依据。方法 对75例ASD儿童和71例DLD儿童用Gesell发育量表进行发育评估,将各组结果进行对比分析。结果 ASD儿童五个能区数值均低于正常,大运动能区和精细动作能区明显高于语言能区和个人-社交能区。ASD儿童各能区平均水平均低于发育性语言障碍组,且各能区间差异有统计学意义(P<0.01)。结论 ASD儿童各项能力均低于DLD儿童。进行Gesell发育量表评估有利于ASD的辅助诊断。
