Abstract: In neural cell, Na+/Ca2+ exchanger (NCX)is thought to play an important role in the regulation of intracellular Ca2+ concentration.During the cerebral ischemia/reperfusion, the influxion of Ca2+ though NCX reverse mode induce calcium overload, which make neural cell damage.Recently, the benzyloxyphenyl derivatives have been developed as selective NCX inhibitors, which may have therapeutic potential as a new remedy for cerebral ischemia.

Key words: Na+/Ca2+ exchanger, reverse mode, calcium overload, Na+/Ca2+ exchanger inhibitor, ischemia/reperfusion
