Abstract: Despite pain relief and muscle relaxation in surgery, effects of anesthetics on anti-inflammatory and anti-infective efficacy gains a growing concern, especially the protection in endotoxemia and endotoxin shock of animals. Studies have shown that different sedation agents have different precision targets, it suggests that the mechanism of specific anesthetics will not be the same. The aim of this paper is to provide an overview of existing research studies and their approaches concerning the effects of anesthetics on anti-inflammatory and anti-infective efficacy and their targets.
