Abstract: Aim and Methods Effects of codonoposis pilosula, bletilla, striata prepared rheum palmaturn and their formula respectively on experimental ulcer model induced by ethanol, ulcer model induced by pylorus-ligation and chronic ulcer model induced by ethanoic acid in rats were observed, and the amount of gastric secretion, gastric mucus and mucosa blood flow was also determined to provide clues to evaluation of their effects. Result The results showed that the drugs and their formula respectively decreased the idexes of ulcer in different models to varying degree, and that they increased the amount of gastric mucus and gastric muscosa blood flow. Conclusion Drugs have better cruative effect for gastric ulcer, and the effect may partly result from their influences on the mucus secretion and gastric mucosa blood flow.
