Mechanisms and therapeutic strategies of chemotherapy induced diarrhea

Abstract: Chemotherapy induced diarrhea(CID) is one of the most common side effects of chemotherapy, it could not only impair the body constitution and life quality of patients, but also result in chemotherapy interruption and less efficacy.Many chemotherapeutic drugs could induce diarrhea, especially fluorouracil and irinotecan have the highest incidence rates.The article reviews the mechanisms and therapeutic strategies of CID as well as explores the effective clinical treatments for cancer patients suffered with CID.
