Abstract: Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder. The incidence of ADHD is increasing year by year. The etiology and pathogenesis are still unclear.Although there is limited evidence to support nutritional supplements in the treatment of ADHD, a large number of studies have shown that zinc, magnesium, iron and vitamin D levels in children with ADHD are significantly lower than those in healthy children. These nutrients play an important role in neurological function. Therefore, this article reviews the research progress of the relationship between zinc, magnesium, iron and vitamin D deficiency and ADHD, and encourages medical workers to take appropriate screening measures and preventive treatment by reviewing the dietary history of children.

Key words: attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, zinc, magnesium, iron, vitamin D, children
