Effects of gastrodin on functional dyspepsia patients with anxiety and depression

Abstract

Abstract: AIM: To study the effects of gastrodin on functional dyspepsia(FD) patients with anxiety and depression.METHODS: 110 FD patients with anxiety and depression were divided into therapeutic and control groups. Omeprazole capsules and domperidone tablets were administered to all patients and gastrodin capsules were given to the patients of the therapeutic group additionally. The course of treatment was 4 weeks' for both groups.RESULTS: The total effective rate observed in the therapeutic and control groups were 66.1% and 46.3%, 91.9% and 61.1% respectively after 2 and 4 weeks therapy(P<0.05,P<0.01). CONCLUSION: Gastrodin may be used to treat FD patients with anxiety and depression.
